OAOM FallWinter 2024 Update
April 15, 2020
Lac Seul First Nation Chief and Council and the Emergency Control Group appreciate the cooperation of community members as we work together to ensure the safety of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, these measures have been successful in reducing exposure of Lac Seul residents to COVID-19. As we gather data and listen to feedback, we are constantly refining LSFN’s response.
Updated Guidelines Effective Thursday, April 16:
Please be respectful of the following guidelines established according to the LSFN Alert Level System:
· 24/7 Safety Point at the FMH Road Bridge
· Only Lac Seul residents and essential staff have access to the First Nation
· No vehicle access from 8:00PM until 8:00AM daily (for medical exceptions, please fill out medical exemption form found at lacseulfn.org and have Opal Smith or Leroy Quoquat approve it).
· Curfew is in effect from 9:00PM until 7:00AM daily. You are required to remain in your residence during these hours.
· No passenger restrictions, residents only (read paragraph below).
· Weekend closures until further notice (8:00PM Friday to 8:00AM Monday).
· Access measures in place for hunters
We understand that there are those who do not have a driver’s license or a vehicle, therefore we are removing the limit of one person per vehicle. We still strongly encourage you to shop at Red Pine, order your food from Fresh Market and have it delivered*, or limit your shopping to one time per week. Please be aware that businesses have put customer safety measures in place (e.g. one shopper per family). We hope that drivers will consider shopping for, and the safety, of the most vulnerable. Elders and children are urged to remain in the community.
We have implemented these measures in order to limit the number of people travelling outside of the community. The best way to reduce risk of exposure is to stay home and limit the amount of times you travel to town. Stay safe, stay home, save lives. *email your order to orderdesk@freshmarketfoods.ca or call 737-1630 ext. 103
