Chief and Council are announcing one positive COVID-19 case within the community of Kejick Bay. Contact tracing and testing is being conducted to identify other possible risk exposures. More details will be provided as Chief and Council and SLFNHA continue to assess the containment of this positive case.
Out of an abundance of caution, band offices in Kejick Bay will close today and employees will begin working from home until further notice. Effective immediately, all schools, clinics, and other places of business in Kejick Bay will also close. As of tomorrow, school classes will be held virtually for the time being. The Kejick Bay post office will be open Wednesday May 5, 2021.
Chief and Council, along with SLFNHA are advising individuals who have any of the following symptoms to immediately self-isolate and get a COVID-19 test:
· Fever or chills
· Cough · Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing · Fatigue · Muscle or body aches |
· Headache
· New loss of taste or smell · Sore throat · Congestion or runny nose · Nausea or vomiting · Diarrhea |
You can arrange for a COVID-19 test with the Kejick Bay clinic (582-9812) on weekdays or at the Meno-Ya-Win Emergency Department on weekends.
