OAOM FallWinter 2024 Update
Community Update
On January 12, 2021 the Provincial Government issued another ‘State of Emergency” which was followed by a “stay at home” directive to the Province. The Emergency Control Group met yesterday with council to discuss the new Lockdown Rules and guidelines. We do understand that a lot of these guidelines are mainly directed towards the Eastern part of Ontario and will come into effect January 14, 2021 at 12:01 am, however the First Nation must adhere to some of the directives.
Band + School Staff
. All offices will remain closed to the public, however if the matter is urgent please call the offices to book an appointment.
The schools will open on January 18 as scheduled and will continue to follow their Covid-19 practices – wearing a mask and sanitize hands regularly.
Check Point + Community Access (Requests)
There will not be any disruption of operations at the check point and access closure. All new requests will not be reviewed while we are in the Provincial Lockdown.
Indoor + Outdoor Gatherings
The Provincial guideline states – there will not be any large gatherings that exceeds the amount of 5 people, with the exception of – physical health + mental health wellness. We understand that the Pandemic has been long + lengthy and we need to allow our Internal Programs to restart and engage our members. With that being addressed, the indoor activities for Physical Health and Mental Health Wellness cannot exceed 10 people. . Any religious services, traditional ceremonies, weddings and funerals will follow the 10 person limit.
All Covid 19 measures must be followed during these activities/events.
