May 19, 2020

On May 15, the Northwestern Health Unit announced a positive COVID-19 case in which the person affected no longer lives in this region. On May 16, the NWHU announced a positive COVID-19 case in Sioux Lookout. These are two separate cases. The NWHU has also confirmed today that there is a new COVID-19 case in Dryden.

With an active confirmed case in Sioux Lookout, we remain in Level Orange with all previous guidelines in place related to the checkpoint, curfew, and office closures. We remind you to remain vigilant and to follow all health directives and recommendations:

· Stay home as much as possible – please plan for your week and limit the number of times you travel to Sioux Lookout. Shop for essentials once a week, shop at Red Pine, or order your groceries and have them delivered.

· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

· Practice physical distancing – stay at least two meters away from anyone who does not live in your house.

· Keep surfaces clean and disinfected.

· If you are sick or have travelled outside of the region, you must self-isolate for 14 days.
