Regarding: Comprehensive Community Plan / Land Use Plan

As the Project Coordinator, I am pleased to inform the membership that the project, which began in February 2020 has now been completed. Funding for the project was provided by the First Nation Housing Market Fund. The Band Council Resolution to formally accept the Plans was signed at a duly convened meeting on July 28, 2022 by the Chief & Council of Lac Seul First Nation.

I would like to thank all the Band members that participated in the community surveys and sessions that were held over the past 2 years. It was challenging to conduct community engagement with the all restrictions and lockdowns imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic. All the input and recommendations provided by the membership throughout the project were greatly appreciated and are all contained within the documents that were produced from your contributions to the project.

There are hard copies and USBs available at the Lac Seul Training Centre of Excellence. Please feel free to contact me if you would like either product. The Comprehensive Community Plan and Land Use Plan are flexible, guiding documents that can be amended to reflect the community priorities, objectives and goals on an annual basis, every 2 years or 5 years.
