Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.


Reporting to the Mine General Manager the successful candidate is responsible for support with administrative processes for the Madsen Red Lake Mine operations. The successful candidate will work locally on a 5/2-4/3 schedule.

The focus of this role will include:

  • Complies with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support to the Mine General Manager and senior leadership mine team
  • Coordinate and process applications, licenses, permits, contracts, registrations, requisitions, and other forms and documents while building procedures and schedules
  • Authorize and issue licenses, permits, registration papers, reimbursements or other material
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and order supplies or materials as required
  • Prepare reports and presentations and provide information to staff and the general public regarding the mine
  • Assist in the co-ordination of administrative procedures such as budget submissions, contracts administration and work schedules
  • May be responsible for some accounting and procurement tasks
  • May be involved in the organization and co-ordination of flow of work for administrative team members
  • Other duties as may be required

Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in purchasing for mining operations and/or mine Suppliers is an asset
  • Completion of post secondary courses in business administration or related
  • Minimum of 2 years of office experience in a related industry
  • Ability to effectively deal with high pressure environments and tight deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with people
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills as well as superior written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office
