Repatriation Worker

Summary: The Repatriation Worker will work under the direct supervision of the Obishikokaang Sagatay - Gamik Director. The Repatriation Worker will provide support and education to families the importance of proper Identification completion and guide them through the process in obtaining all identifications needed. The repatriation worker will also help families that are disconnected from the community find familial connections to the community.

 

Key Responsibilities are (but not limited to):

· Develop trusting professional relationships with families

· Ensure that all members of family have all necessary Identification that are serviced by Obishikokaang Sagatay Gamik

· Ensure that both parents are listed on identification documents

· Support families to make necessary changes on identification documents to reflect both parents

· Provide education to families on the importance of completing identification and impacts of not adding both parents

· Add information to client files

· Document and file all home visits and services provided

 

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· 1–3 year work experience in child welfare is an asset

· Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skill

· Excellent time management skills

· Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive

· Knowledge of local regional programs

· Knowledge of local family value would be an asset

· Ability to communicate in the local language would be an asset

· High standard of ethics and confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information

· Strong commitment to help our children and families

· Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (word, excel, power point)

 

 

Location: Frenchman’s Head, ON

Rate: Wages start at $24.38 /hour *dependent on experience and qualifications

Term: Part -Time

Hours: 25 hrs./week

Closing: Open Until Filled
