Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

 

Reporting to the Mill Lead Hand, the Mill Operator safely operates mill equipment for the efficient processing of ore.  The Mill Operator will work locally on a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off work schedule.

The focus of this role will include:

  • Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines and ensure activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and regulations and environmental standards
  • Support the mill operations Lead Hand in the shift by shift operation of the mill
  • Safe operation of feeders, crushers, conveyors, grinding mills, pumps, slurry flows, sampling, reagents, thickeners and tools
  • Safely operates the crushing circuit, grinding circuit, and concentration circuit
  • Safely operates the filtration which includes reagent mixing
  • Safely operates mobile equipment such as rubber tired loaded, excavator, rock breaker, track skid steer loaded, forklift and extended boom forklift
  • Observe mill production monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Record safety, operational and production data in accurate and legible circuit log sheets
  • Transfer materials, supplies and products between working areas
  • Cleans up spillage complying with environmental and safety policies
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in work area
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a gold milling environment
  • Working knowledge of operating milling circuits such as Grinding, Gravity, Cyanide Destruction, Tailings, Hydraulic Fill, reagents mixing and water treatment
  • Common core training
  • Proven safe working practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work day shift and night shift
  • Valid driver’s license
