Maintenance Clerk (Kenawind Housing)
Summary:
Kenawind Housing is seeking a highly organized and motivated Maintenance Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support for housing maintenance and operations. Under the direction of the Director of Kenawind Housing, this role supports the coordination of maintenance services, record-keeping, and communication with tenants, contractors, and internal staff to ensure efficient and timely maintenance services within the Lac Seul First Nation community.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and track maintenance requests
- Maintain maintenance files and service records
- Prepare maintenance correspondence and reports
- Schedule inspections, repairs, and follow-ups
- Coordinate with staff, contractors, and service providers
- Monitor and follow up on maintenance work orders
- Support housing administration and operations
- Assist with basic financial records and documentation
- Enter and manage maintenance data and reports
- Monitor inventory and order maintenance supplies
- Respond to tenant inquiries professionally
- Maintain confidentiality of tenant and departmental information
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role (preferably in housing, maintenance, or property operations)
- Basic knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Experience handling cash and cheque transactions (asset)
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to handle confidential and financial information
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations or communities is an asset
- Willingness to train a motivated and committed individual
Location: Lac Seul First Nation
Rate: Wages start at $28.50/hour *based on qualifications and experience.
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
