 Director of Nursing Services

The Director of Nursing is a leader responsible for the planning, human resources, management and supervision of a team of nurses providing clinical treatment, health education, health promotion and illness prevention in three local health centres within Lac Seul First Nation (LSFN).

The Director of Nursing Services works under the direction of the Executive Director and is also responsible for quality assurance, policy development, professional standards, professional development, and equipment/supply management. The Director of Nursing Services meets frequently with the Executive Director and participates in management meetings and other relevant committees.

Qualifications:

  1. A member in good standing of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  2. Degree in nursing from a Canadian University or recognized equivalent.
  3. Experience in management, budgeting, and supervision in a First Nation Community Health Centre is preferred.
  4. Candidates must display sensitivity to First Nations language, culture, and history.
  5. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development as preapproved by Executive Director.
  6. Effective skills in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  7. Valid Driver’s License is required.
  8. Willingness to travel and work in all three communities.
  9. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

 

Location:        Lac Seul First Nation, ON (Frenchman’s Head, Kejick Bay and Whitefish Bay)

Rate:               Salary and benefits depending on experience and qualifications.

Hours:            8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
