Summary: Lac Seul Education Authority is seeking a full-time Custodian for Waninitawingaang Memorial School in Kejick Bay. Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Custodian is responsible for all caretaking aspects of the facilities and grounds. This includes ensuring that the schools are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition to support a healthy learning environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities are (but not limited to):
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces,
- Sweep, mop floors and vacuum carpets,
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper),
- Ensure high touch areas are cleaned and sanitized each day (e.g., desks, doors knobs)
- Wipe mirrors and windows,
- Report damages,
- Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.),
- Submit requisitions for the stock of materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred but not required,
- Good communication skills,
- Ability to perform duties of the position,
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, materials and applications as well as knowledge of cleaning procedures as they relate to public buildings.
Location: Kejick Bay, Lac Seul, ON
Term: Full-Time Permanent Position
Salary: $24.19/hour
Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 35hrs/week
