The Opportunity

We are seeking to hire a camp cook who will help support daily activities and operation for First Mining Gold at its exploration project. This role will be based in a dynamic team setting, reporting to the Camp Manager, and working closely with the Operations team, you will be integral in the daily support of site activities focused on hospitality with employees, contractors, and visitors at Springpole.

What you will do

As camp cook, your primary duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

• Support activities for employees, contractors, and visitors.

• Prepare 3 meals per day.

• Baking, preparing sandwiches and snacks to go.

• Weekly inventory, grocery and supply order.

• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and dining area(s).

• Assist with keeping other buildings clean.

• Perform other related work as required; and such other duties and services that would be reasonably expected to be performed by a person employed by a public mineral exploration and development company in a similar position to that of the employee.

Preferred Qualifications and Education

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural team.

• Food Safety Handling Certificate an asset.

• Health and Safety focused mindset to work safely and contribute to safe practices of the First Mining Gold team.

• Willingness to travel and work within remote site settings as this position’s rotation will be 2 weeks on 2 weeks off with 12-hour workdays.

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
