Administrative Clerk (Kenawind Housing)
Summary:
Kenawind Housing is seeking a dedicated and organized Administrative Clerk to support the day-to-day operations of the department. Under the direction of the Director of Kenawind Housing, this role provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient service delivery to the Lac Seul First Nation community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values education, community service, and teamwork, while contributing to the success and development of our Nation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the department
- Maintain accurate files, records, and documentation
- Prepare and distribute correspondence and internal documents
- Respond professionally to inquiries from staff, community members, and external contacts
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and inspections
- Perform data entry and maintain electronic and manual filing systems
- Support basic financial administration, including accounts payable/receivable
- Handle cash and cheque transactions in accordance with policy
- Support office coordination and daily operations
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Experience handling cash and cheque transactions (asset)
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to handle confidential and financial information
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations or communities is an asset
- Willingness to train a motivated and committed individual
Location: Lac Seul First Nation
Rate: Wages start at $28.50/hour *based on qualifications and experience.
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
