Administrative Assistant (Education)


The Administrative Assistant will report to the Director of Education and Assistant Director of Education. The Assistant will work out the Education Department and will provide office support; assist in preparing documents; work closely with other team members as requested; maintain timesheets and employee leave forms; reconcile statements as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Assistant will set up meetings, create agendas, ensure minutes are recorded and distributed as appropriate.
  • The Assistant may be required to attend meetings when requested.
  • The Assistant will be responsible for managing and controlling office supplies, inventory, and equipment. They will be the point person if there are any issues with office equipment and notify the IT team if needed.
  • Some office errands may be required related to postal service, gift purchases, office supplies, etc.
  • The Assistant will be responsible for reconciling Credit Card receipts and other monthly statements.
  • The Assistant will be responsible for gathering all timesheet submissions, and employee leave requests.
  • The Assistant will complete all travel arrangements, advances, and travel expense documents for the team.
  • The Assistant will assist at meetings and Gatherings. Where cash is required, they will work to determine how much is required and ensure that the appropriate cash is on site when needed.



  • To support daily office operations, communicate with staff and receive incoming calls and visitors.
  • Knowledge of office technology, computers, telephones, copiers, etc.
  • Organizing and receive incoming correspondence, electronic messages, and filing.
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communications Skills
  • Working in an office environment with First Nations.
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset.

Term:                 Full-time

Rate:                  Position starts from $25.70

Hours:               8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 35hrs/week
