Chief and Council have declared a State of Emergency as of May 1, 2021 within Lac Seul First Nation. This declaration will allow our community to gain access to more assistance and resources during this difficult time.
Today there are three new positive COVID-19 cases, with a total of 16 confirmed positive cases in the community.
We are continuing to look for people of who may have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive. If a worker contacts you to tell you that you have tested positive or that you’ve come in contact with someone who has tested positive, you must co-operate with them and isolate if you have been told to do so.
Chief and Council cannot stress enough how important it is to stay home. The community is experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak and the best way to get ahead of these positive cases is to eliminate possible spread between people.
We urge community members to contact the Lac Seul Police (1-888-310-1122 OR 807-582-3802) if you see anyone breaking the rules, this includes having parties.
COVID-19 case numbers are growing in our communities, and it will take everyone working together to bring these numbers down.
Please do your part to protect our community by staying home and staying safe.
