Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.


Reporting to the Mill Operations Lead Hand, the Mill Labourers safely work on all the maintenance, clean up, and “helper” jobs that make the work of more specialized mill employees go more smoothly. Working locally on a two week on and two weeks off schedule Mill Labourers lift, carry, clean, and perform other duties safely to support overall production and safe target support for the Pure Gold Red Lake Mine team.


The focus of this role will include:

  • Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines and ensure activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and regulations and environmental standards
  • Support the mill operations Lead Hand in the shift by shift operations of the mill
  • Circuit, site clean-up and housekeeping
  • Sample preparation as required
  • Maintenance and monitoring of fuel filters, propane tanks, fuel dips, water filters and equipment fueling
  • Snow removal in key areas
  • Maintain sewage systems
  • Preventative maintenance of site equipment
  • Maintain and monitor safety, fire and emergency equipment and systems
  • Organize workshops and other areas as needed around site
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of Grade 10 is required
  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend instructions, and related work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Willingness to participate in all mill circuit training to advance to operator level
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to work day shift and night shift
